salvagedlight: (and it appears)

[And Ven sighs; he was pretty sure it would come to this, but that doesn't mean he completely likes it, or that on some level he's not apprehensive about what this will mean.]

I don't know everything - there's way too much I don't know for me to be able to give you any kind of definite answer. But the Heartless and the Darkness have always existed, as far back as we have any kind of knowledge of, even just legends. But the Heartless didn't come to the populated worlds a lot, or at all maybe. This world here and Disney Town have so much Light in their hearts that it holds back the Heartless, and all the other worlds used to be like that, too. I guess when the Heartless started being made instead of just born out of Darkness like they always were before that, that's when the Darkness started creeping over the worlds' hearts and letting the Heartless get in a lot easier. We need to find a way to eradicate that Darkness from their hearts so we can help the worlds that are still here - maybe if that works, we can find a way to bring back the ones that are lost.

[And he looks at Pluto for support. He very carefully does not look at Terra or Kairi, trying not to involve them if they don't want to be involved, and Pluto's the one who knows the most about this after Terra. Ven swallows a little and closes his eyes, holding his hand out in front of him - and his Keyblade materializes.]

This is it - this is the Keyblade, the weapon you were talking about. You can beat a Heartless and send it away, but this will destroy it for good and send it back to the Darkness where it belongs. But it's just a tool, not a way to magically make everything right again. Even with it you can't stop people from being hurt, or losing ones you care about.

[His voice trips just a bit on those last words, only noticeable if you're really paying attention to his tone and delivery. He's definitely telling the truth about that last bit.]
