Poor Kaiba
WHO: Seto Kaiba and Noel Vermillion
LOCATION: Traverse Town
TIME: After his encounter with Maleficent
WHAT: Noel finds Seto after he gets the tar beaten out of him by Maleficent.
RATING: Cuteness, maybe some cursing
Things were quiet in Traverse Town after the heartless Invasion. There had been more people showing up. The newcomers were of course in a panic and had to be calmed down, but it was nothing that the police force couldn't handle. It was almost boring, but Noel wasn't complaining. She was still getting use to the whole 'Captain' thing.
She was on her way back to the Hotel, Koto resting on her shoulder while a bag of groceries was in her arms. She was silent as she walked, her eyes looking on at ground. Her feet kicked a small stone as she walked. She hadn't seen Seto since the attack, she was worried. She was also confused though. She remembered clearly after she was attacked that he was there, she just...appeared. She wasn't sure how though.
This has been picking at her mind for sometime now. She wasn't really focused on where she was going, she ended up walking by Seto's house. She glanced up as she past it. She stared at the wall that was still crackled from the attack. She didn't understand how the house was still standing. She guessed that Seto's powers must have been pretty strong, that didn't explain the whole 'appearing out of no where' thing.
She sighed heavily, her eevee making a small noise as he headbutts her her cheek gently. She smiles, scratching behind his ear. She starts to walk back to the main street now, now more slower then her pace had originally been.

He had the worst luck it seemed, there wasn't a soul walking the streets despite the endless sounds of voices and construction. It was angering, desperation was sinking in despite his strong will and just as he was about to collapse and call it a day, he saw a familiar figure.
"N-Noel..."
Great. He hadn't exactly been expecting her after all of that avoiding earlier but it was all pointless now. He felt sick, he could barely breath, and he was sure there was too much blood outside of him to consider 'normal'. He reached out a hand trying to beckon for her but that only made him get out of balance. He started falling forward.

"EH?!" She was so surprised that she dropped the bag in her hands, not even giving it a second thought as she rushed forward. Koto jump down from her shoulder, sniffing at the bag of now scattered groceries as Noel grabbed a hold of Seto, catching him before he fell to the ground.
She stumbled slightly under his weight but we didn't let them fall.
"S-Seto? Seto what happened?!"
no subject
Seto didn't normally cuss and quite frankly, he always held his manners around women. There wasn't exactly a particularly reason for it, he didn't care much for women, but he wanted to set a good example to Mokuba. He had to learn his manners and when to use them.
"That bitch kicked out of my castle. I don't know how she did it but she made my heartless turn against me." He coughed, holding onto her for support. It was so shameful, he was defeated, his pride was shattered.
"Get me home." He didn't want to be seen by any more eyes like this.

It made sense though, how he could have protected the house without her, and teleporting...?
No, she couldn't think about this now. She had to help him.
"U-uhm d-don't worry, I'll get you inside." She started to drag him towards the house, Koto made a small noise before he hopped up, biting onto the door knob and opened the front door for them.
"Good boy." Noel praised him as she entered the house. She wasn't sure where to put him. He was bleeding allover her, but she didn't care right now about that. She set him onto the sofa, making sure he was alright to sit by himself before she ran into the kitchen.
She stumbled as she entered, forgetting to turn on the light. She scrabbled back up, grabbing a bowl and filling it with hot water. She grabbed a fresh towel as she ran back into the room. She saw Koto was sitting beside him, cooing up at Seto with a concerned look.
She set the bowl down, staring at it for a moment. What else did she need...?
"AH! Th-the first aid kit!" Yep running back up the stairs now.

Most of it was gone by now as noticed looking down at several deep gashes across his skin. He peeled away the sticking fabric letting out a groan. The thing was already sticking. Behind him, he heard Noel frantically move somewhere in the kitchen and then up the stairs. He braved peeling off more fabric.
"N-Noel, my bedroom. Under the bed, there's a box of potions. B-Bring one of those."
After Noel's incident, it was clear to Seto that he had to invest on those things. He could have lost the girl if he hadn't been so good at what he did but this was flesh and bone. There was nothing a wrench and some suturing flames could heal.

She groped blindly under the bed until she felt the box and pulled it out. There were quite a few potions, she found the biggest on and hurried out with it. She almost fell down the stairs in her panic, but she managed to catch herself.
"I-I got it!" She slide down beside him, pulling his hands away from his shirt.
"Don't touch it." She sprang back up and disappeared into the kitchen for moment. The sound of metal on metal could be heard rustling for a few moments before she came back with a pair of scissors in her hand.
She knelled back beside him, one hand shaking hand on the helm of his shirt else the other started to carefully cut through the fabric and separate it from his skin.

"Pass me that bottle." He muttered, grabbing the thing and opening it up before chugging it without hesitation. He had heard those things healed so he didn't hesitate to try it. He needed it. A particular tug of fabric made him groan again and he looked down at his wounds.
"You're shaking. Stop it. I'll be fine."
no subject
She placed the scissors down next to her and took the bottle of potion from him after he was done drinking. She placed whatever was left of it into the hot water. She had to shoo Koto away from the water for a moment as she dipped the towel into it. She rung it out once before she folded it.
"This might sting." She warned him as she gently placed the hot towel onto one of the wounds on his chest, trying to clean the blood off.
no subject
"I'm sorry." He finally spoke, watching her. "You shouldn't have been the one to see me like this."
Considering their history and her injuries, she would know exactly what had caused it and he really didn't want to tell her what was wrong. He wouldn't be able to lie to her, he had just grown too thick of an attachment.
no subject
"You've helped me, now it's time I help you." She smiled slightly, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of uneasiness from her. She knew these wounds were made by Heartless, but she didn't understand how it happened. He could control them, couldn't he? So why would they betray him now? He said something about a witch, but she didn't understand who that was.
She was quiet as she continued her work. Once his wounds were cleaned she grabbed some bandages that were beside her.
"Um, can you sit up?" If not she would just have to work around it, somehow.
no subject
"You're keeping your head rather well." Yes, he still had that mouth.
no subject
Was it that hard to believe that she could handle herself under pressure? There was just too much going through her head right now. She wasn't sure what to do. She wanted to ask him what happened at the castle, and how he had control of the heartless.
She wasn't even sure how she could ask him that. Was that the reason he had been avoiding her? She didn't understand any of this, not even her own feelings at this point. She was worried about him. It hurt to realize that he had been avoiding her and keeping secrets. She thought they were past that.
"Uhm....isn't that...a good thing?"
no subject
That look Noel was giving him made him nervous. He never had a problem treating the girl like he treated everything else, unjust and rude, but he couldn't stand her looking at him like she was actually sad. Why couldn't she be angry, he preferred her angry. It was easier to handle if she was angry. Seto eventually looked away preferring to see his bloody chest than her pretty face.
"Thank you."
no subject
Did he not trust her? That could be a reason, but what had she done to make herself untrusted? There was the whole 'secretly a robot' thing, but that was months ago, she thought he was over that.
Has she done something to make him mad that last time they met? She couldn't even remember alot of it. Oh, there was the whole boob thing. Was he upset about that still? That wasn't even something to be up set about though. If anyone should be upset it would have been her but she was fine with it now!
She was getting side tracked.
After she finished bandaging him up she quietly cleaned up. She didn't leave though, she just stared at the floor.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
no subject
"Be more specific." He muttered, leaning back against the couch as he watched her, getting a bad feeling about where this conversation was going.
no subject
She held her breath for a moment, to stop herself from crying. It wasn't really working though.
"Y-you can control the heartless, can't you?"
no subject
He didn't even hesitate when he admitted that bitter truth. He was looking at her straight in the eye and despite the fact his chest was gashed and ruined by the very beasts he was apparently so proudly acknowledging, he didn't seem to have a single ounce of regret.
"A few days after I arrived in this world, I made a deal with Hades. He would teach me how to control the darkness and help me find my brother in exchange for my soul. We haven't found my brother yet but I still control the heartless." He shifted where he sat, pushing her slowly away as he reached for a rag himself to clean some of the healing wounds. "My brother is all I have, Noel. I'm not letting these creatures consume him when I can easily save him. If the price is my soul, I wouldn't care as long as it brought him back safe and sound."
no subject
"Why?" The tears in her eyes finally broke, and she just stared at him, crying.
"Why didn't you tell me? We could have looked for him together!"
no subject
"In order to enter the darkness you have to know how to control it. If I got you involved you would foolishly follow me but I can't risk someone else I care about getting hurt. It's my sacrifice to bear, it shouldn't be yours too." And he was aware he had just admitted in caring for her. He had said it before, hadn't he? When he was fixing her. This was no different.
"Everything I have done has been to protect you. And Jounouchi. I can do it by myself. This was just... out of my control."
no subject
"You...stupid idiot!" There was no anger in her words though, just sadness. She understood the price of a soul, better then anyone. Maybe it was because she didn't have the privilege of being born with one.
She let out a sob before she fell onto him, crying still. She clung to him, afraid that he would just suddenly disappear.
no subject
"I won't apologize. I know what I'm doing. I've been doing well so far. This was just an accident." He responded, not exactly looking for a way to defend his position. He wasn't that sort of person.
"I just need the darkness to find my brother."
no subject
"You're such an idiot!" She sat back up, wiping the tears from her eyes.
"Why don't you ask for help? Why why why?" She cared about him so much, she didn't want to see him suffer because of a mistake.
no subject
"I'm not about to involve innocent people into this. Besides, do you actually think I would get involved in a deal I wouldn't be able to break? I'm a business man, Noel, not an idiot."
no subject
"I...I don't know what to do." She stared at her hands for a moment before they covered over her eyes. She felt helpless. She's been able to help him before, but now she had no idea what to do.
"I care about you so much."
no subject
How strange. It took him a ride through the darkness, a crash landing in a strange world, and so much pain to find someone who cared. Whether she was a fool or not, Seto wouldn't judge. Truth be told, as strange as those words seemed they felt nice. He reached forward placing a hand on her back shoulder.
"Then trust me, idiot." He responded. "I don't want you to get hurt. You're not the only one who cares about something here and as long as my actions don't condemn anyone else, there's no reason to worry."
no subject
Why didn't he understand? There were people here that cared for him. She cared for him. Why was this such a hard concept.
She stared at him. She frowned slightly, but nodded.
"I-I know, I know you want your brother back. I just wish you told me."
She could have helped....somehow...She wasn't sure how but they could have thought of something.
She closed her eyes, for a bit longer then a standard blink.
"It..It will be okay." She looked at him, smiling though her tears now.
"We'll make it okay."
no subject
"I'm exhausted." He swallowed hard. "That was too close. Stop crying, I don't want to pass out and the last thing I see is your tear-stricken face."
no subject
She smiled, the tears finally stopped now. Her hand came to him, holding in gently for a moment.
As soon as their skin touched through she felt what could only be described as a static shock. In an instant her mind was flooded with images of his past.
The most recent memory of him being beaten by Maleficent, along with some no do recent but still powerful memories. She saw his childhood at the orphanage, along with the torture he suffered from his father. She even saw a certain memory that well, she didn't really want to see because it was so private.
She instantly pulled her hand away. What seemed like a life time, was in reality only a second or two. She felt such emotion from those memories, repressed feelings that he just didn't want to show, or maybe he couldn't.
She didn't want to cry though, not again.
"G-get some sleep, alright?"
no subject
"Don't go anywhere, Noel." He muttered, eyes closing. He didn't want her getting into trouble while he was knocked out. He didn't want to be worrying.
