Can you hear me, I know I'm just a whisper
Who: Sephiroth and Genesis Rhapsodos
World | Location: Olympus | Hades Cup
Date | Content: July 16 | Just before Round 2 of the Cup, Genesis and Sephiroth have a chat.
Rating: PG?
Getting to Olympus had been an adventure onto itself, if only because the way the travel worked was just so different. But Genesis made it through alright, even with the creature that continued to say "Ninetales" in tow (the thing didn't leave him alone, so Genesis kept it). He wasn't sure what sort of name to give it, but he would figure that out later on. For now, he had agreed to meet with Sephiroth. Angeal had opted to stay behind in Traverse Town, but hopefully all three would be together sooner or later. Though he didn't keep his hopes up. Times have changed, they were no longer the same and for all they knew, they would just drift apart. It was sad to thin about but for Genesis, was it no less than deserving? Probably.
But he owed Sephiroth this time. A talk, a discussion, and maybe even a chance to right what had gone wrong. Genesis didn't know but he wanted to find out. He parked the Gummi Ship just outside the Coliseum and walked in, the fox walking calmly behind him. It wasn't very hard to find the man he was looking for. Sephiroth could stand out no matter where he went.
"I take it you have been successful on this... tournament of sorts," Genesis said, crossing his arms loosely and smirking lightly from behind Sephiroth. "But I suppose that is to be expected, hm?"

There was more he would have liked to have said but this was not really the place to say anything too personal or sensitive he thought, perhaps up above in the sunlight and outside of the domain of Hades he might had done so but who knew just what was listening in down here?

He fully expected Sephiroth to follow him regardless.

Once out of the Underworld and back into the sunshine above in the Olympus Coliseum, he finally broke the silence that had fallen on their way up. "I assume you want to talk with me about something?" Something likely possibly sensitive since it couldn't be spoken of down below, he would wager.

"You are from a time well before mine, well before Zack, I wager," He spoke softly, looking up at the magnificent building behind Sephiroth. Idly, he reached out to gently pet the nine-tailed fox's fur before sighing and pocketing his hand again. "Much has happened since Modeoheim, Sephiroth. The only question is would you be able to handle the information I know... this time."

A discussion he wasn't entirely sure now that he wanted to get into now, but would avoiding the knowledge solve anything or merely end up making it worse? He let his own gaze shift briefly away from the redhead and his furry companion to drift over the sandy ground and the walls surrounding them.
While he wasn't certain he wanted to know what Genesis was hinting at, he had the feeling that if he didn't find out just what it was...it would bother him possibly to know that there was something unpleasant in his future, even if his suspicions on that weren't actually confirmed yet...it explained too much to be casually dismissed. It would likely haunt him to want to know just what had caused the two friends he had that were still alive to become so wary of him in the future.
"...this time?" He asked finally, his voice quiet and almost as softly spoken as Genesis's own, the feline gaze finally moving back to rest on the man before him seeking answers to the doubts his words had raised.

He shook his head and crossing his arms, looking to the side at first before meeting Sephiroth's eyes. "I think we are all hesitant to tell you the truth now that we know what can happen. I know this seems like a tease and quite possibly making your curiosity grow. But treading lightly is all any of can do."
no subject
He could think of possible reasons for the two to be wary but surely here away from the dangers and influences that would have been present back home, things could be different. To avoid the unpleasantness and merely settle for the current situation would feel too much like an act of cowardice to go through with, even if he tried to rationalize it best to allow sleeping threats to stay that way, it would still eventually need to be dealt with. Threats would not always stay sleeping after all.
"I understand."

"Project G never stood for my name," He began. "But rather Gillian, Angeal's mother. Project G is what created both he and I. However, Hojo had his own hand in the experiment for the perfect soldier known as Project S."
He let that sink in for a bit as it was rather obvious what 'S' meant. From here, he continued explaining far better detail but hardly with the attitude he used all those years ago and, obviously, didn't use the word monster when describing Projects G and S followed by what happened in Nibelheim.

His eyes closed at some point in the explanation of the projects as he sought to deal with the new facts, but as Genesis started in on events which happened in Nibelheim they flew open to stare at him in open shock. Even with the explanation provided as to why the events had happened as they had, he still found it hard to come to terms with the fact that they could have happened at all. Small wonder the two had acted as they had when he greeted them, smaller wonder that they had chosen to greet him as civilly as they had. He could only imagine what Zack had to have felt every time they had interacted so far, it certainly explained the oddness he'd noted but had been dismissing up until now.
"...I see.." He felt there was more to be said but at the moment he couldn't find any words and so fell back into silence. He would need time to deal with all of this information before he could think about trying to make amends for actions he hadn't even personally done himself. Perhaps he could speak to Zack later in private away from Strife and reassure him as best as he could think of.
As for Genesis...he wasn't sure what he should do...though he partially understood now the redheads surprise at some of his earlier words. Despite the knowledge now gained, his desire to regain his friendship with the man hadn't changed really and even thinking about pushing him away felt hypocritical since weren't they similar in origin as nature despite the differences in the projects and their cells.

He knew now that Sephiroth's word back then were the result of his own feelings reaching a boiling point. Of course, the General hardly let his temper get to him like Genesis' had, but that didn't mean he didn't have a limit.
"I'm sorry."
no subject
"Perhaps we can begin again while we're here? Make the most of the time we've been given?"
no subject
"I wouldn't mind that," He said. "A fresh start, away from corruption and greed, besides the Darkness, anyway. I doubt anyone would ask for more."
no subject
Hopefully Angeal would be as agreeable to resuming their old friendship as well, he had seemed friendly enough when he'd last spoken with him so he didn't really see any problems forthcoming from that direction currently.

And he was in a technologically backwards world? He didn't know whether to feel sorry or just laugh at Sephiroth, to be honest. Though he did enjoy the Midgar joke.

"Indeed. What do you know of them?"

Sephiroth gave Genesis something of a vaguely amused look, subtle humor lacing the tone of his next words. "So you actually have read other books besides Loveless, then."
