It's just a jump to the left~

WHO: [livejournal.com profile] abracadabrapon, OPEN
LOCATION: Abandoned house in the Third District of Traverse Town
TIME: Several days into the Age Plot
WHAT: There's an unconscious woman in the building. Oh, and a gigantic warp hole. OOPS.
RATING: PG-13, to be on the safe side.

If anyone had been wondering what precisely had caused the strange time changes in the various refugees, the answer was actually much closer than anyone might have anticipated. Somewhere in the Third District, a good amount of Heartless had begun to gather around an abandoned building, as if drawn to whatever was inside it. Someone - something - was in there, and the Heartless wanted it. Badly.

The feeling of power wasn't limited to the Heartless, however. Even getting close to the building, otherwise normal people could feel something incredibly strong emanating from the infested building. But the question was...what could it be? And why does it feel so...familiar?

Image The persistent boy he was, Zell found a way out of Radiant Garden and continued his search for Matron. He ended up at Traverse Town, where many people told him was a good place to start looking for people who were lost. He carried with him a small but sturdy branch that was really rather useless when it came to self-defense, but he felt big and strong while carrying it. He, too, is also drawn to the sense of power emanating from the building and the sense of familiarity is enough to make him curious and want to get inside. Albeit, the group of Heartless swarming the area would prove difficult, but brave little Zell wouldn't be dissuaded.

He crept around the house and found a box that would provide him with some good height and climbed on top of it to peek into the window it was shoved up next to. What, oh, what would he see inside?

It was a wild guess but one she was willing to make for the sake of finding Zell. The fact that he was now only a child and determined to find Matron made her only that much more worry. After scavenging the town in every district in search of the tiny tot, she was suddenly halted by an unusual amount of enevery. Puzzled, her eyes wandered in hopes of locating the source until her eyes came across the building.

Black...whelps? She thought, noting the heartless that surrounded the building with about as equal interest as she had. Her suspicions were correct, something was there. Yet just as she was ready to turn and leave to avoid any conflicts, her eyes caught wind of the blonde who stood out like a sore thumb amongst all the heartless.

"Zell...? ZELL!" Fearing the worst, Rinoa quickly ran over to join the horde of heartless. Dangerous or not, she was not about to see him get hurt.

When he heard his name, Zell started to flail and teeter about on the box he stood on. "Uh oh!" he cried, just knowing he was in big trouble. He did run away, after all-- but those big frowning men were trying to keep him from finding Matron! He was ready to turn tail and run until he saw who it was.

"Rinny!"

Amazingly (and fortunately), the Heartless don't seem overly interested in him, but rather the huge force of energy in the building. His recklessness surely would have gotten him into trouble otherwise. Still, he points emphatically at the window.

"There's somethin' in there, Rinny!"

It was a miracle that the heartless were not paying him any mind. That was one less worry for her to deal with. She sighed in relief after catching up with him, ready to say some words of wisdom until he pointed towards the window. Of course, the heartless were surrounding the building. If they weren't here for Zell, then...

Peering inside the glass, she studied the insides of the warehouse to locate the source of Zell's interest. It was then her attention was suddenly focused on the gathering of dark heartless. It was hard to make out just what was so interesting due to the swarm. Whatever it was, she knew it was probably something she couldn't just walk away from.

"Stay out here, okay?" said Rinoa, then turned to try and find the nearest entrance inside. If the heartless didn't care of their existence, then hopefully they wouldn't care if she decided to join them. But just in case her arrival wasn't welcomed, she had her blaster edge ready for combat.

The lure of power was not something that only intrigued the heartless. Not at all. Icy was always interested in increasing her own power with or without essentially stealing that strength from others. Needless to say, when she arrived in Traverse Town the energy from that building started to lead her there as well.

"What is this presence..." Pausing for a moment she drew out her Wisperian crystal. It floated before her and didn't do much else. "Of course not..". The crystal had been created for the sole purpose of tracking down the dragonfire. Now that the dragonfire was in her possession... it held no more purpose. Perhaps it was a touch of paranoia that she'd thought to employ it, the battle between her and the fairies had not yet been concluded.

Putting it away she approached the building. "Step aside.." She ordered the heartless, some almost looked like they might comply but when they didn't she froze whomever was in her way and formed an icy path to the door. Reaching it, she hesitated only briefly before throwing it open.

At the sight of the all the heartless gathered by the building, Basil's immediate reaction was to fall back. Certain that he must have been spotted he was surprised when none of the beasties gave chase. Pressing his hands to the side of the structure he'd taken refuge behind he slowly leaned over to peer around it.

"Hello... what do we have here?"

Their behavior was peculiar. What was so intriguing that they wouldn't budge from that place? Even the smallest heartless was much taller than the little mouse, so they were a bit intimidating however his own curiosity spurred him onward. He felt it would be foolish to try to go right through them... so he examined what was around the building and through a variety of calculations managed to enter the building from the roof. He proceeded with caution.. moving down towards where the energy was emanating from. Magic was only held in storybooks in his time.. getting used to all of these occurrences was taking some effort on his part.
